Lau Chin Yong (Brian)

Brian Lau holds a Bachelor of Law (Hons) with Second Class Upper Division from Multimedia University in 2018. Upon graduation, he had commenced his pupillage for nine months in Messrs. Koh Kim Leng & Co. During this period, he studied in the chambers of Mr. Tiu Leong Kim, an experienced senior criminal lawyer in Malacca, in which he has been exposed to a variety of criminal trials involving capital punishments. 

 

Later, Brian joined Messrs. Yong Chen Lim & Saridah as legal assistant. During this period, Brian has been exposed to real estate & conveyancing practice, ranging from small projects to big projects, i.e residential projects, commercial projects, mixed-development projects, and even international development projects which involved foreign purchasers. Brian has been entrusted to handle big projects in Kuala Lumpur and was given full responsibility to supervise such conveyancing works in both Melaka and Kuala Lumpur. The extensive experiences of supervising a number of project sales at the same time have created a strong foundation in this area of law.

Brian is also very familiar in other branches of conveyancing practice, such as sub-sales, charge and discharge of charge, lease and tenancy, perfection of transfer and charge, residential and commercial loan procedures, and etc. 

 

In addition, Brian has practical experiences in commercial law, in which he has been involved in different types of commercial dealings before, which includes drafting agreements and providing suitable legal opinions to private person and company. 

 

Brian is able to speak fluently in Bahasa Malaysia, English, Chinese, as well as dialect such as Hokkien, Teo Chew and Cantonese. Currently, Brian is pursuing his master study in land law (LLM.)(Hons) at University of Malaya.
